Named after Roderick J. McIntosh who was born in Moose Creek and lived in Chilliwack for 60 years. McItosh was a shoe merchant, a charter member of the International Order of Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F.) and an adherent of Cooke’s Presbyterian Church.
