Cultus Lake Elementary derives its name after Cultus Lake and Cultus Lake Park.
According to the Dictionary of the Chinook Jargon: Or Indian Trade Language of the North Pacific Coast (1973), the word “Cultus” means “worthless; good for nothing; without purpose”.
