Guinet Park was named for Allan McGuiness Guinet, Lawyer and District Magistrate in Chilliwack.
Guinet attended Stratcona Elementary School, Chilliwack High School, the University of British Columbia, and obtained his Bachelor of Law from the University of Alberta. Guinet practiced law in Chilliwack with the Davidson & Guinet law firm and eventually became a provincial court judge. He was appointed District Magistrate in 1960.
