Named for Mr. and Mrs. George Banford who came to Chilliwack in 1873 from California, originally from Fermanach County, Ireland. George Banford bought 200 acres of land on the west side of Banford Road. George’s son R.J. Banford was a City of Chilliwack counsellor.
