Chadsey Road was named for members of the Chadsey family. Chester Chadsey was the oldest of four brothers who came to B.C. from Ontario with his brother James in 1862. Their brother George Washington came in 1866 and William joined them in 1867. The Chadseys homesteaded in the Sumas (Greendale) area.
